Training and Development

Command ensures high quality service delivery via the use of effectively trained security officers, technologically advanced equipment and systems and procedures that have been tried and tested.

Recruitment

Our recruitment procedures ensure the employment of experienced staff who have to first of all demonstrate competence before any appointment. Besides being PSIRA accredited, criminal and reference checks are done on all prospective employees. Furthermore, after such scrutiny, three days of orientation culminating in a robust assessment, is compulsory as part of the pre-selection process for guarding service. The successful persons are then offered contracts and assigned to an inspector and manager whose task it is to mentor the appointee through a probationary period. A further review is done at the end of the probationary period to assess suitability for permanent status.

Training

An additional feature of Command that distinguishes its practice, is its Training Academy, managed by an experienced PSIRA accredited Training Manager. We feel strongly that a programme of ongoing assessment, analysis, training, support, upgrading and mentoring; is critical to quality service delivery. Besides ongoing upgrading courses, the following PSIRA accredited and in-house certificated courses are offered to our own employees and to companies who regularly make use of such opportunities:-

  • Armed response Fire-fighting
  • Cash-in-transit First-Aid, level 1 & 2
  • Retail security training Firearm training
